Juvenile killed in hit-and-run collision in western Jordan; suspect arrested

WEST JORDAN, Utah — One person died following a hit-and-run collision in West Jordan on Tuesday night, police say.

According to the police, the victim was a minor who was riding a bicycle at the time of the accident. The age of the victim is not known. The victim of the pedestrian collision in western Jordan was transported to Intermountain Medical Center where the individual later died.
According to the police, once the vehicle struck the victim, he fled. Police also say the vehicle is described as a light-colored Chevrolet pickup truck with a mounted ladder rack and equipment in the back of the truck.

“Our hearts are broken for this family who lost their child today,” said Officer Samuel Winkler, West
the Jordanian police department said in a press release. “We have no words for why anyone would leave another human on the road fatally injured and hope the suspect does the right thing by surrendering.”
Suspect located and arrested
Just after 9:30 p.m. Monday night, West Jordan Police announced the suspect had been taken into custody.
UPDATE… We would like to thank all of the witnesses in this case as our officers have located the suspect and arrested him. He is currently undergoing treatment and his name will be published once imprisoned.
