Motorcyclist dies in head-on collision

A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision on University Boulevard Friday night, according to a statement from the Laredo Police Department.

Raul Linares, 36, was identified as the victim on Saturday afternoon.

According to the report, crews from the Laredo Fire Department responded to the 20000 block of the NE 20 loop for a multi-vehicle crash reported at 6 p.m.

When crews arrived at the scene, they discovered a two-vehicle collision involving a Ford F-250 and a motorcycle that appeared to be head-on.

“The F-250 was on Fleming facing north at a stop sign about to turn west onto University Blvd,” the police report said. “The motorcycle was rammed and killed the victim at the scene.”


The two male patients involved in the collision had to be extracted from their vehicles.

Both were taken to Doctors Hospital. The driver of the F-250 was in critical condition.

“The truck driver had NO sign of intoxication,” the report said. “He offered a sample of his blood to the hospital. The case is being handled by LPD Crash Team and Crimes Against Persons Investigators.

The accident remains under investigation.

The driver has not been quoted or modified with anything yet.
