Police Investigate Hollister Shooting and Collision – SanBenito.com

Hollister police are investigating a March 18 shooting that resulted in a collision with a vehicle and gunshot wounds, authorities say.

Late one night on March 18, the Hollister Police Department received multiple calls about two vehicles involved in a shooting, a March 19 post on the department’s Facebook page said. One of the vehicles had broken down in a traffic accident on Highway 25 and Meridian Street. The vehicle had collided with two uninvolved vehicles.

Several people fled the offending vehicle on foot, police said.

Another vehicle involved in the collision drove to a nearby hospital with a gunshot victim, police said. Authorities believe two vehicles, the one whose occupants fled and the one that drove to the hospital, were involved in the shooting.

Officers recovered the two vehicles, casings, firearms and other evidence, police said.

The victim’s gunshot wounds are not life-threatening, the police department’s social media post reads.
