Schoolgirl airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after car accident

A schoolgirl has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a car crash.

Police, paramedics and an air ambulance were called to Carr Lane in the Birkdale area of ​​Southport at around 4.20pm yesterday (April 21). This followed reports of an 11-year-old girl being bitten by a blue Honda Civic.

When police arrived at the scene, they found the girl, who has not been identified, seriously injured. The North West Ambulance Service and an air ambulance responded and the girl was rushed to hospital, the ECHO Reports.

The driver of a blue Honda Civic stopped at the scene and was assisting officers with their investigations. Road closures were put in place while emergency services attended to the incident.

Merseyside Police said: “We ask drivers to avoid the area and find an alternative route. We appreciate your patience as we deal with this incident.”
