Victorville woman killed in collision with vehicle

Victorville Sheriff’s Station officials reported a 33-year-old woman was fatally struck near Mojave Drive and Condor Road on Monday.

The crash site is west of Interstate 15 and Village Drive.

The woman has been identified as a resident of Victorville. His name is being withheld pending next of kin notification, sheriff officials said.

At 7:30 p.m., deputies, American Medical Response and the Victorville Fire Department responded to the collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.

At the scene, a woman was found with a head injury and was transported to Victor Valley Global Medical Center in Victorville, where she was later pronounced dead.

Deputies from the Victorville Police Department Major Accident Investigation Team responded and took over the investigation.

They learned the woman had been hit in the eastbound lanes of Mojave Drive, just east of Condor Road. The driver involved remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

All eastbound lanes of Mojave Drive were temporarily closed while deputies conducted their investigation and reopened shortly thereafter.

The case is still ongoing. Witnesses and anyone with information regarding the collision are asked by the Sheriff’s Department to contact Deputy B. Jarzombek at the Victorville Sheriff’s Station at 760-241-2911.
