One died on the San Mateo Bridge after a lengthy chase Wednesday morning that ended with the suspect being hit by a vehicle while on foot, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Redwood City tweeted about a fatal collision at 5:48 a.m.

The suspect was involved in a pursuit with the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office in Half Moon Bay early Wednesday before deputies lost track of the suspect’s vehicle on I-280 near Black Mountain.
