Child seriously injured in three-vehicle collision on Linc

At least five people were injured – including a child – in a three-vehicle collision on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway on Thursday evening.

The eastbound lanes of the parkway were closed for hours between Highway 403 and Mohawk Road as police, firefighters and paramedics attended the scene following the 6:15 p.m. crash.

Supt. Dave Thompson of the Hamilton Paramedic Service said the injured child was taken to a trauma center in serious but stable condition.

An adult with life-threatening injuries was also taken to a trauma center and two other adults were taken to a trauma center in serious condition.

A fifth adult was taken to hospital by paramedics in stable condition.

Further information about the victims was not immediately available Thursday evening, Thompson said.

A video of the incident posted on Twitter about an hour after this happens, a partially crumpled red car is seen under a blue transport truck. A small white car with front and rear damage can be seen on the side of the promenade.

Thompson said paramedics are asking drivers to be careful on the roads as the long weekend approaches, which he says paramedics are calling the start of “trauma season.”

“Hamilton Paramedics would like to remind everyone as we head into the long weekend to celebrate safely, avoid risky behavior and look out for each other,” he said. he declares. “Slow down and stay alert so we can all make it through this holiday weekend alive.”
