Naida: An electric rickshaw driver has died after his vehicle collided head-on with a Mercedes car driven by an IT professional, Noida Police officials said. The 29-year-old electric rickshaw driver was killed near Nithari when the incident happened around 9am on Friday, officials said. A police team arrived at the scene and the electric rickshaw driver, who had been injured in the collision, was transported from rushed to hospital but did not survive,” a police spokesman said. “The driver of the Mercedes Benz C Class has been identified as Anand Ranjan. The FIR was filed under sections 279 (reckless driving), 304A (causing death by negligence) and 427 (mischief) of the Indian Penal Code, police said. Police said they were investigating further and checking CCTV footage to determine if any of the vehicles were at fault.
