motorcyclist killed in collision in Fullerton | KFI AM 640

FULLERTON (CNS) – A 46-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Fullerton today.

Fullerton Police Department officers were called at approximately 11:40 a.m. to the 2200 block of East Orangethorpe Avenue off the Orange Freeway (57) to reports of the collision and found the man lying in the street with ‘serious and life-threatening injuries,’ according to Capt. Jon Radus, the department’s public information officer.

The man was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries. His name has been withheld pending next of kin notification. The driver of the second vehicle – a 2022 Ford Maverick compact pickup truck – involved in the collision was in a nearby parking lot and was cooperating with the collision investigation.

Police determined the motorcyclist was driving his 2004 Honda motorcycle southbound on East Orangethorpe Avenue ‘at high speed’ when he struck the rear passenger side of the Maverick as the truck spun into the parking lot. It was not immediately clear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision.

Anyone with information about the accident has been asked to call Fullerton Police Department accident investigator J. Feaster at 714-738-6812.
