Multi-vehicle collision on I-264W near Poplar Level Road overpass kills at least one, police say

A collision on I-264W left one dead and others injured, according to Louisville Metro Police Department officials. LMPD Sixth Division responded to a multi-vehicle collision on I-264W near the Poplar Level Road overpass at approximately 5:40 p.m. Westbound passenger vehicle came to a sudden stop due to heavy traffic and was struck by another vehicle causing a chain reaction. Officials said the impact caused the passenger vehicle to catch fire. Fire and EMS responded to the scene and declared at least one person dead from the vehicle that caught fire, officials said. They said the occupants of the other vehicles were not injured. A total of four vehicles were involved. The LMPD Traffic Unit is investigating the incident.
