A person was struck by a vehicle in Auckland’s Mount Roskill in what was described as a ‘severe vehicle collision’.
Emergency services are currently at the scene on Keystone Ave and are focusing their attention on a property down a very steep driveway.
A white van was visible at the bottom of the driveway, a photographer at the scene said. It appeared that the van had rolled into the driveway and hit someone.
The road remained open but the police tape was on the other side of the driveway, he said.
At one point there were 10 police cars at the scene, along with four vehicles from St John, he said.
Six police cars still remained at 3 p.m. and the serious accident unit had just arrived on the scene.
Police said they were notified of the collision at 2:10 p.m.
They asked motorists to avoid the area, which is near the intersection of Keystone Ave and Dominion Rd.
More information will be provided as it becomes available, the statement said.
A St John spokesman said they were notified at 2.07pm and sent an ambulance, two rapid response units and an executive vehicle to the scene. “We weren’t required for transportation.”
