Several pedestrians were injured in a multi-vehicle crash involving a Muni bus in San Francisco on Saturday, with six people transported to local hospitals.

Emergency crews responded to reports of a collision between a vehicle and a bus just after 11 a.m. on Lombard and Fillmore streets, San Francisco Police Officer Robert Rueca said.

Several cars were involved, police said, and a suspicious driver was arrested.

Those transported to hospitals suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

A witness, Eric Kingsbury, posted on social media that a vehicle traveling west on Lombard Street slammed into the bus, which then spun around as pedestrians fled onto the sidewalk.

Kingsbury said a child, who suffered lacerations to the face, was among those injured.

The investigation was ongoing and police were asking people to avoid the area, Rueca said.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the SFPD at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 and start the message with SFPD.
