WRPS responds to single motor vehicle collision in Woolwich Township

Waterloo Region, Ontario – Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service Traffic Unit are investigating a single motor vehicle collision in Woolwich Township.

On November 20, 2022, at approximately 12:20 p.m., emergency services responded to the Hakesville Road area between Three Bridges Road and Northside Drive to report a collision.

Through an initial investigation, police determined that a driver of a Honda Odyssey was traveling eastbound on Hawkesville Road. The driver ran off the road and hit a utility pole.

The driver, a 47-year-old man from Woolwich Township, reported no physical injuries.

A 12-year-old passenger was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Hawkesville Road is expected to be closed for several hours while crews repair the utility pole.

The investigation is ongoing by the traffic services unit.
